ICONIC awarded H2020 TWINNING project!

ICONIC centre is selected for funding by European Commission in H2020 Twinning Call (H2020-WIDESPREAD-2018-2020). The project INCOMING (Project No. 856967): Innovation and excellence in massive scale communications and information processing will last for three years (2020-2022) and will “twinn” ICONIC centre with top-class EU institutions: Aalborg University (Denmark), Chalmers University of Technology (Sweden) and German Aerospace Centre – DLR (Germany).  Stay tuned for upcoming project activities: workshops, summer schools, 5G-related seminars and lectures provided by leading 5G academic and industrial researchers world-wide.

H2020 SENSIBLE Workshop in Novi Sad

Date and Place: 09th and 10th of April, Novi Sad, Serbia

H2020 SENSIBLE project workshop took place in Novi Sad on 09th and 10th of April, bringing together researchers and industrial partners from different academic and non-academic institutions involved in the project. The fruitful event discussed various aspects of wireless and optical communications, machine learning, Internet of Things, distributed algorithms, etc. in the context of Smart Buildings. Different subprojects such as Smart Chairs, Smart Illumination, Data Analytics from Smart Metering data, deep learning for Health and Well-Being applications have been presented.

Professor Branka Vucetic, University of Sydney, visited Faculty of Technical Sciences and ICONIC centre and presented a talk entitled “Centre for IoT and Telecommunications at the University of Sydney” under organization of IEEE Student Branch Novi Sad and IEEE Young professionals Serbia and Montenegro Section. Prof. Vucetic is Scientist in Charge for University of Sydney within EU funded Marie Curie RISE project SENSIBLE – Sensing in Built Environment, which provides opportunity for ICONIC researchers to visit and collaborate with researchers at the Centre for IoT and Telecommunications at the University of Sydney.
