Research activities of the ICONIC centre are organized within three research groups:
More information about each of the research groups can be found on respective pages.
The three groups jointly contribute to the ICONIC centre research and development in the context of massive-scale data acquisition using IoT technologies and large-scale information processing and machine learning in the context of edge and cloud computing architectures. Fast prototyping, open and reconfigurable hardware, system design and implementation is emphasized in both communications and information processing system development research tracks and constitutes a separate research group. The envisaged applications are in the domain of large-scale smart infrastructures with particular focus on smart energy infrastructure (smart grids), ambient intelligence and occupant comfort (smart buildings), and well-being (connected health).
