Waylay: Building a Startup in Industrial IoT Automation

Biography:
Veselin Pizurica is CTO and founder of Waylay. Throughout his career, he worked in the fields of Cloud Computing, Semantic Web, Artificial Intelligence, Signal and Image Processing, Spherical Lattice coding, Pattern Recognition, Home Networking, MPLS routing, xDSL troubleshooting and optical networks. Veselin holds 12 patents in the domain of Artificial Intelligence, xDSL, home networks and cloud computing. He has been the driving force behind the creation and finetuning of the Digital Twin concept in the IoT developer community.

IEEE VTS UAV Innovation Challenge – Urban Demo

Date: February 2021.

Demo video presentation of Two-Tier UAV-based Cellular Network Connectivity in urban scenario demonstrated within NTP Building of Faculty of Technical Scences. Based on the demo, joint UNS-ICONIC (University of Novi Sad, Novi Sad, Serbia) and ULHT-COPELABS (Lusofona University, Lisbon, Portugal) team won the first prize in the first stage of the challenge.

ICONIC researchers part of H2020 MARVEL

Date: 01st January 2021.

H2020 project MARVEL (Multimodal Extreme Scale Data Analytics for Smart Cities Environments) kick-started in January 2021. ICONIC centre researcher Prof. Dragana Bajovic is a Scientist in Charge on behalf of the University of Novi Sad, she is Technical Coordinator of H2020 MARVEL, and the project will involve a number of researchers from ICONIC.
